So Much Excitement
In a month, I will be joining my parents on a cruise to the Carribbean! We'll go down, visit my grandmother, and then board a ship in Fort Lauterdale and go on a one week cruise, stopping at Nassau, St. Thomas and St Martin. In the meantime, there is so much for me to do to prepare for the trip. The first of my many preparations has arrived today! I ordered new batteries and SD card for my camera so I will be plenty prepared. I now have three batteries for my camera, which considering I have had new batteries on my Christmas/Birthday wishlist for three years now, is long overdo. Plus, I got myself a new 32GB SD card that works with video. Sadly, the one my brother gave me for Christmas is not formatted well for video, sometime I learned while at the Steampunk faire. This one, however, works perfectly.
Next thing I'm waiting on are my bike shorts for under my summer dresses. I hate chafing - do you know how difficult it is to find little shorts for under skirts? You'd think no one thought of this need before. Anyway, I've got that coming. Hopefully they fit.
My to do list:
Finish chapter of Konnel's story. Currently, I'm writing. I'll have more time tomorrow since I'm off, and maybe if I'm not too tired during my breaks tonight, I can do some more writing. This needs to be finished by Sunday, or it's not going to be for next week's writer's group. Of course, in that case I'll try for the one after, but it'd be nice to have a submission again after so long.
Finish Tommy's project. Honestly, almost done. Only need one more picture. Hoping to have it done Monday.
Finish Eilonwy's dress. Tried working on it a bit today. The buttonholes are a little daunting. Maybe I'll feel like I have more time tomorrow.
Sew Malinda's shirt's sleeves. I really should do this tomorrow, shouldn't take long.
Look through summer clothes, including swim suits. Gotta make sure I have what I'll need to take with me for the trip. I need to make sure everything fits. Hoping to do this next week, as work it less crazy then.
Need strapless bras. Or other comfortable undergarments that would be good for my strapless or string strap dresses. I suck at bra shopping, though. And everything is just so expensive for something you're not supposed to show. Not looking forward to this.
Get in touch with DDE. My last payment for my F60 is due around the 28th. I leave for my trip on July 5th. I thought if she was home by the 21st (when my card's billing cycle rolls over) I could pay the last bit off then and she can come home with plenty of time before I have to leave. I don't want her delivered while I'm on vacation. That will do no one any good.
Buy Nel's wig and eyes. With her coming home getting closer and closer, it's time to do some shopping for her arrival. I just put in an order for a Monique Shaine wig from JPop, so we'll see how she likes it, and even if she doesn't, at least she'll not be bald. As for eyes, Malinda's doing a swap, and eyes might be part of it, so she might see if the girl has eyes I'll like and I can just pay her for them when they come in. Until I see what eyes are available, I'll wait to do shopping for them on my own.
Pay Target bill. I have a bill due on the 6th, after I leave. I need to make sure it's paid so I don't have to worry about it on vacation.
Get sunglasses. Since I seem to have lost all my other ones.
Find shoes? Do I need new shoes for the trip? I'll need to check it out.
No longer need to figure out my fish situation, as my fish sadly died yesterday. Bleh.
Add music to ipod? What with losing my harddrive back in september, I lost all my music as well. Got it back from Malinda, but I haven't synced it up with itunes. I have no idea how upset the ipod will be if it can't find the old songs if I try to add new ones. Damn itunes is stupid sometimes.
Clean downstairs. People will be staying over soon and I need to make sure they can sleep where I keep all my crap.
Sell elf ante. I have blank elf ante faceplates from way back when and I really need to see about selling them to help suppliment the final payment of Nel.
So that's what I've got so far. Oh, I'm thinking about taking a kid with me on the cruise. Partially because I will be traveling by plane down to Florida on my own and I don't necessarily fly well, and flying alone is a lonely and somewhat scary ordeal for me. A kid might help me feel better. Plus, pictures. I think it might be Eilonwy, although Zinnia might be a more mobile choice. Anyway, I need to restring and suede Eilonwy if she's going and go through possible clothing to take with her. She got the most wonderful dress last night from Malinda - far more expensive than I'd expected it being, but Malinda owed me money and this goes towards that. It's beautiful on her and definitely worth the price, just surprised me more than I expected I guess. I'll have to take some pictures of her in it soon.
