Playing Host
I am such a slacker, lately. Work has made me so tired that half the time, all I want to do is just look at the pretty pictures of the internet and let my eyes glaze over, then pass out on the couch. I only just finished my submission for Thursday's Writer's Group. *sigh* I always feel like I should write more and get the submissions out sooner, but there's always something else to do - work, talk to my mother (there's no ignoring her), sew, take pictures of kiddos, surf the web, sleep - and before I know it, I've run out of time. Again. I had a lot more to write ths time, too, as I've added in a new concept for Konnel into this section that I only recently thought of. Winds up making the fact that he becomes an artificer at 117, training under Curio, make so much more sense.
But anyway, I've been very fortunate for the last week to have been allowed to host two of Malinda's girls. Technically, they weren't supposed to stay here that long, but my boys haven't minded. I didn't get to take as many pictures of them as I would have liked, and I never got outside with any of them (and I'm sure Malinda's going to be taking them home with her tonight after laundry), but I did get a chance last week to take some pictures of the two happy couples with my spiffy lightbox.
Taryn is Malinda's vampire elf shushu. She is the daughter of my elf yder, Konnel (and main character of my story), and her dark elf soo, Vyolette. Her aunt and uncle are Ailu and Kilian (my tanned shiwoo) and is the older sister of Effie (she is her adopted little sister). As kids, Taryn would join her siblings and cousins in visiting their parents' friends and would play with their kids, which included Tam, Aria, and their siblings and cousins.
Taryn had a crush on Tam for a while, but never told him. However she did tell Riley, Tam's older sister. In the campaign they're in (Wizardsbane), Tam and Aria joins the group after their sister Riley does. Some time after, they meet their friend's mother - a succubus. With her is a girl who she had turned into her familiar. The girl was Taryn.
They rescued Taryn, but after being subdued into submission as a familiar for so long, Taryn had a hard time communicating with anyone. The only one she seemed to react to was Tam. So Tam took it upon himself to take care of her.
Technically Taryn and Tam are not a couple. Taryn likes Tam and Tam likes Taryn, but the trauma Taryn has been through has kept them from actually starting a relationship. As much as Tam has been told Taryn had a crush on him years ago, the fact that Taryn can't really communicate right now, and he's a little dense when it comes to subtle hints from girls, he doesn't want to try anything right now.
So for now these pictures are more of a premonition for things to come.
Taryn is definately an instigator, though. ;)

Shiore is Malinda's elf shushu. She's a bit crazy as she was kidnapped as a child and forced to become an assassign. She and her "brother", Wrast, managed to escape and ended up meeting Dip and his brother Zip. While Zip started to develop feelings for Wrast, Dip and Shiore became interested in each other.
They started dating, but after some issues, Shiore tearfully broke up with him. Not understanding what happened, Dip became dispondant and Shiore started becoming interested in a human man, Zachary, which made Dip instantly dislike him.
Dip decided he was going to get Shiore back and did everything he could to make her change her mind. Meanwhile Shiore started to develop closer relationships with Zachary. After a rather passionate sparring match, Shiore confesses her growing relationship with Zachary to Dip who actually gets angry. He stormed out and then returned only to kiss her with such passion that it evolved into other activities. After, the two officially got back together and by the next day they were engaged.
The two are a very passionate pair, almost surprising considering their tepid start. Both are very powerful fighters and are an equal match for each other in the sparring ring. Something which Dip had to prove when he challenged his wife in front of her entire theives guild in order to prove he was worthy to be her partner.
These outfits (made by Azurielle) are something close to to their wedding outfits. So here they are taking their wedding vows.
It's been forever since either of these girls had bodies and their boys missed them. It was so nice to finally get to take some nice pictures of them.
And then I took a few group pictures of the MNFs in the house.
