The Woman in Black
Just saw Daniel Radcliffe's new film, and all I can say is WOW!!! This is one seriously creepy movie!
It's a Hammer film, and it totally lives up to that studio's classic, time-honored reputation for meaty horror films. This one is deliciously atmospheric, dark and brooding, sinister, full of shadows and foreboding and menace. It reminded me, in some ways, of Henry James's "The Turn of the Screw." Daniel is just brilliant, absolutely masterful as Arthur Kipps. This is quite a memorable and substantive first major role for him, post-Harry. He completely owns it from the first frame to the last.
Go see it, but bring a friend. You'll need somebody's hand to hold!
