Johnny Tremain was one of my favorite books as a kid.

Also, you should totally read 'the Thief,' 'The mysterious benedict society,' and 'The true confessions of Charlotte Doyle'. They are all excellent. ('Stone words' by avi is also amazing.

Additionally, I think it's cheating a little to have the hp books listed seperately, when they could be including other things like 'The Trumpet Swan,' and 'Stuart little.'

What's really funny about this is that the books I've read from this list, I've read them as an adult.

Hrm, this list is heavy on books that were published well after I was no longer regularly reading children's books. (Also, I agree with the preponderance of HP.) So, if I'm counting correctly (and not forgetting any), I've only read about 17 of these.

I wouldn't have said I was obsessed with Johnny Tremain, but it definitely left a strong, good impression.
