Dude. So, just two weeks ago, I had a drink each night of the weekend and was fine. (I did *not* feel the drink or two I had with
kizlj and
aussie_nyc at Carlsbad Tavern, for example.) Tonight I had *one* beer and I am buzzzzzzzed. Wheeee. Granted, the bartender, when I asked about the varieties on tap, did warn me that this (a something-something WTF-- how

Glad you're enjoying the Midnight Mayor so far. I've convinced miki_moo o read it too so maybe our tiny fandom will be three instead of two soon....
I'll be sending you an invite to the spn/tarot project later this week. I can't wait to see what you come up with! :-D

Hurrah for more in our wee tiny fandom!
Yaaaay for the spn/tarot project!! I hope I come up with something interesting... How are you organizing it? Are we starting with just the major arcana, and/or the court cards? Have you chosen symbols for the minor arcana, or sticking with the usual four?
(i is v. excited!)

I've almost finished re-reading "Madness of Angels" and now I have an overwhelming urge to go buy a paint spattered trenchcoat and run around London talking to the pigeons........ ;-)
In the project we are starting with ALL the cards, ambitious that we are! The symbols for teh Minors are Pentacles, Swords (or blades). Cups (loose definition - can include shot glasses, Megs "blood-bowl", maybe even "vessels"....), and Guns replacing Wands.
I can't WAIT to see what you come up with. Do you plan on working in the Major or Minor Arcana?

Eek. Dunno. Are artists each claiming a card to work on, or just producing what they feel inspired to do or what???
'Lonwy's brain hurts. :)
(I really want to just curl up and keep reading The Midnight Mayor but alas there are so many things I have to doooooo. Blarg.)

When I was in Ireland in 2000, living there, I'd never really drunk at all before. (I'd gotten drunk once my firstyear of college and had a sip of wine here and there before that.) Half a pint of smithwick's would make me tipsy. Seriously. I remember one day when a friend and I went to open bank accounts (which you had to do to prove to the Garda that you had enough money to leave the country-- otherwise they wouldn't let you *stay* in the country, all very odd) which meant missing a class. So we went to the campus pub (which unsurprisingly sells more alcohol per square foot than any other establishment in Europe-- at least in 2000) and I had a half pint. And then I went to a medieval history class, and my notes from that day are *highly* amusing.
Yesterday's one pint of WTF felt like that half pint from 2000.
