Sometimes you find yourself in a situation and you don't understand why it happens. You can sit there and scream, throw a fit, or cry but you're still stuck in the mess. I went to Six Flags yesterday and after a full day, we headed home but stopped at a gas station in Conyers. When I we got back in the car to leave, It wouldn't start. Now if you know the history then you know that my car has just come out of the shop where I spent $2000 on repairs. At this time, I have finally been pushed to my limit. I have 3 children in the car and they have the honor of seeing Amber have a meltdown. Someone tries to jump my car but it doesnt work. I try 2 more times. Then I decide to call my parents, I am so afraid my dad will yell at me. I tell him what happened in between sobs and sniffles and he tells me to try to get another car to jump me. Several people offer help but no one has jumper cables. Finally, a very skinny lady with somewhat mussy clothes offers to give me a jump. A man with a flannel shirt unbuttoned to his navel gets out of a beat-up truck. Crooked teeth and scary hair makes me think "Oh God this is not going to help me!" He hooks it up and of course the battery doesn't take the jump! He gets under the car and looks, then he retrieves a metal rod and at this point I am extremely worried. He scrapes my starter and shoes me the dried oil that he has removed. He goes to crank the car and "whoom!!" It starts right up!! I thank them so much and try to give them $5 but of course guardian angels don't take money. I know that God was with me and that he sent them to me. I felt guilty for my thought and that night I prayed for them. It gave me a new perspective because I realize that you cant just judge or categorize someone based on looks. I strive to be less superficial.
