The trip back home that night was considered smooth in his opinion, as expected from traffic above midnight would be. He was opted to return to their apartment but since tomorrow they would start later, he didn’t against his beloved man’s idea to return to their home. He did miss his bonsais anyway. Looking out the road, he estimated it would take another hour before he could arrive home, just outskirts of the busy and noisy Tokyo, so he closed his eyes, trying to get some rest along the way, making use any spare time he could get in between his hectic schedules of film promotion, drama shooting and concert preparation, just his daily meals.
“Matsumoto san, we’ve arrived.” Jun opened his eyes slowly, adjusting his eyes when the door opened beside him, revealing an elegant wide house before him. He stepped down, thanking his manager and driver, remembering his leader taught him on the early days of Arashi were formed, never forget anyone that had helped them, so he did and asked them to be careful on their way back to Tokyo.
“I’m home…” Jun decided to go through the upfront door which he was then welcomed by his most precious bonsais lining up along the glassed wall, all seemed to beckon him to pet them, and he did gladly.
“I’m home guys, sorry for being away most of the time, are you all doing good?” Jun walked between the 10 lining of small pottery bonsai, calling their name one, touching them, adjusting their shape if necessary, seeing Saku-chan the sakura tree bonsai he bought last year had shed her first leave, preparing for fall. He looked over each of those 10, noting he would need to thanks their housekeeper tomorrow for keeping great eyes on those bent small trees.
“Has your other daddy arrive home?” Jun asked the last from his collection, Tochi-kun, a small maple tree he got from his lover when the man was in Kyoto, promoting his latest movie, a couple of months ago. He couldn’t wait to see Tochi’s leaves change its colors, to brighten up the room with its reddened leaves. Satisfied seeing his ‘kids’ were doing well, he turned off the lights again, walked through to the next room, passing some paintings along the corridor, painting of him in every expression as the painter had caught and poured them onto the canvas. He opened the atelier to check if his lover was there. It seemed like his lover had finished his sketch earlier because the room was clean, not even a single drop of paint was seen.
He was then continuing his steps further into the second part of the house, the more private one. His eyebrows squinted seeing a set of meals consist of miso soup, bleached vegetable, and grilled sanma were prepared on the kitchen island, with a note saying ‘caught the fish, it’s delicious.’ Jun smiled seeing his lover’s antique, but he still took a bowl and filled it with hot rice from the rice cooker besides him. Who said he’s on diet? He’ll eat anything his lover cooked for him, no matter what. True to his note, the sanma was indeed delicious.
Full from the meals, he continued his task of locating his lover. He passed through the living room and its warmed fireplace, turned off the television that showing fishing show, but still, he didn’t find his lover anywhere. Until he turned to the backyard, seeing his lover lied on one of the five beach chairs he lined up there. Shaking his head slowly, he grabbed the nearest blanket before he stepped out to the backyard, welcomed by chilly air of September’s wind. His steps were stopped when he saw the grand view in front of him. The weather was fine that day, resulting tiny stars sparkled like diamond sprinkled on the night sky above the sea in front of him. No wonder his lover was outside.
“Sa-chan… wake up, let’s get inside and get proper sleep.” Jun sat down beside the sleeping man. A wine glass was on the table beside his chair. His lover must have fallen asleep while waiting for him and he felt instant guilt from it. His schedule was killing him, but he knew his lover would understand and supports him fully, he shared the same killer schedule as Jun’s anyway. But Jun had learned it, that when the man thought the burden was too hard for Jun, his beloved man could stop his work anytime, anywhere, with any consequences. That was his lover’s way to show him that he cares, among others tiny action that speaks louder from any love words.
“Satoshi… come one, wake up, let's get inside.” Jun nuzzled his nose to Satoshi's round cheeks, trying to get some attention, but the man only hummed before he pulled Jun down to lie beside him on that, now, cramped beach chair.
“If we caught a cold from sleeping outside, it will be all your fault, old man.” Jun smiled lovingly, seeing his man’s closed eyes, but the man turned on his side, extended his right arm, where Jun laid his head on, making it his pillow. He pulled the blanket he brought onto them, snuggled closer for warmth from his leader, lover, mate, husband or whatever it was people can always tag him with. He looked at the calming face, feeling lucky to have such wonderful man in his life, until...
“Okaeri.” A peck landed on his lips, brought a smile with it. He wasn't lying on his Tokio senpai’s TV show filming that morning. He will not build the makeup cut board house that was filmed, because the man that slept beside him had already built him his dream house, and, he knew he didn't need any houses since he had realized that Ohno Satoshi was and will always be the home he'll return to.
a.n.: Jun’s on road promotion had given me a lot of ideas, so beware, I might write more sillier stuffs after this. LOL
