Yaaaaaaaaaaaay! I think you're one of the 2-3 people on my F-list that still posts regularly. Everyone else is gone.

Most of my folks moved over to Dreamwidth, especially after LJ was sold to Russia. I mean, if you read Russian, apparently LJ is the hugest blogging platform for Russian bloggers! I cross-post a lot from Dreamwidth to LJ and there are people here I check my f-list for. You're one of them!

And I prefer using DW/LJ for some kinds of news that I would post on Facebook but not really indepth.

I think most of my F-list (like Nolan, Zippy, etc) just moved on to Facebook or gave up on blogging.

I've always preferred using LJ for personal stuff due to the anonymity. It's kinda nice to be able to speak one's mind without attaching my real name to it if that makes sense? Tho nowadays, I don't even use it for that anymore 'cause there is almost no one around who reads this and can offer advice :(

Well, I'm still here....I check in to see if anyone has written. It's sad, but I think it's dying.

I think it's been dying for a while now. It used to be so active but now, there are only 2-3 people on my F-list that regularly post here. Even the fandom LJ communities are dying :(

I used to post a lot but as fewer people started commenting, I started posting less. Not that I solely post for comments but when no one responds to your posts, I feel less inclined to post, you know what I mean?

I wish that this place became more active but I think most people have moved on to other social media websites.

These days I post mostly as a journal to myself. The tags are very handy to keep track of certain stuff. I'm so glad I journalled a lot several years ago when things were tough on me and several people were BSing me a lot. I could just go back and read that something did not go as people tried to make me believe or I was not making a fuss over nothing, it was actually way worse than I remembered. So try to keep on journalling for myself. Life is getting better and it shows.

LJ may still be dying, though.

I visit LJ now and then. Then I read up on other people's LJs too.

I still check your LiveJournal from time to time, but I confess that you're the only person I know who uses this site.
But I understand the reasoning behind it, you said it in a comment here:

"I've always preferred using LJ for personal stuff due to the anonymity. It's kinda nice to be able to speak one's mind without attaching my real name to it if that makes sense? "

It is kinda nice to have a forum for yourself, and interact with good people you've met online. It's another audience, separate from friends and family IRL, and enables other kinds of topics and dialogue.

I'm not up-to-date with the market position of LiveJournal or any wading popularity, but I can imagine that these last couple of years could have been hard on this site with its format and the rising popularity of different forms of social media, online and in mobile form.
If you'd ever switch over to another site, I'd love to still follow and read your well-written insights and journal posts.

I can believe it 'cause I know I joined in the last month or so before I graduated from high school. I'm so old :p

I'm actually surprised to hear SO still exists. A while ago, I heard it went offline. Just popped over there and I'm amused that I'm one of the 'notable members' considering I haven't logged in there in years. I logged in just now and turns out my last post was from 2013.

Indeed. One thing that I find quite strange and fascinating is how much people's attitude towards the internet has changed. Back when I started my online life (somewhere in 1998 or 1999), the general opinion of the internet was that it was 'FULL OF PORN AND PEDOPHILES!!!'. No one would give their real name or give any personal details that would allow people to find them online. So ( ... )
