This will probably sound slightly nuts but I recently got it into my head that I would like to share my BJD hobby with my future child. I kinda like the idea of buying a BJD with the intention of eventually passing it on to him/her. I wouldn't immediately give it to him/her. BJDs are an expensive hobby but once my child is a certain age, I would let him/her gently play with it.
The reason I got this idea is 'cause I was recently reminded of a Volks Yo-SD that I really liked and which would be suitable 'first BJD' for a child : Volks Hinata.
I saw
a twin pairof them in Bangkok in 2009. Back then I thought they were adorable but I forgot what sculpt they were. Volks sculpts aren't always easiest to recognize. So that's why it wasn't 'til now that I realized the cute Yo-SD twins I saw in 2009 were in fact Hinatas.
I know that Hinata is being re-released but unfortunately, it's during an event in Japan. They are rare and expensive on the secondary market. So I might have to let this idea go or find a less rare, expensive BJD :-/
