Brainstorming for the ED contest

I've looked at some many tattoos the past couple of days. I think the biggest challenge is finding a tattoo design that is original, creative and has meaning. I currently have two ideas that I'm working on.

Idea 1 : 'The Tribute'
Text : "For a very long time, fans have often tattooed their body with images of their favourite artists' work as a form of tribute to said artist. Marina's art, the Enchanted Dolls are no exception to this. It is this idea of paying tribute to an artist that inspired me to create this design.
I did not want to copy an existing doll with no input of my own. So I took elements of Enchanted Dolls (like the Snow Crown) and mixed them with my own ideas to create this 'Tribute' tattoo."

Idea 2 : Persephone, Queen of the Underworld
Text : The idea behind this was a reimaging of the classical tale of Persephone's abduction and life in the Greek Underworld. Except this time, she has been abducted and forced to live in the criminal underworld, a fate that still befalls many women worldwide today.
Refusing to accept her fate, I imagine that Persephone would strive to overcome her misfortune and work her way up the criminal ranks. No longer a helpless victim, she is Persephone, Queen of the Underworld.
The tattoos were inspired by Russian criminal tattoos. The stars on the knees indicate that she bows to no man. The stars on the shoulders are a sign of a high ranking member. The spires of cathedral and crosses on her hands show how many prison sentences she has served. The pomegrate in front of the cathedral refers to the original Persephone myth, where eating the pomegrate was what bound Persephone to the Underworld.

I would really appreciate feedback on these entries. I can only choose one to submit and I want it to be the best it can be.
