Yeah!
I've been to Dynamo Open Air on June 5th, it rocked the place, of course.
This year they had a neat line-up, with some shit bands, though.
Stage 1:
1pm - 1:40pm: Shadows Fall
2pm - 2:50pm: Ill Niño
3:20pm - 4:10pm: Children of Bodom
4:35pm - 5:30pm: Soulfly
6pm - 7pm: Life of Agony
7:30pm - 8:30pm: Nightwish
9:15pm - 10:45pm: Slayer
Stage 2:
1:30pm - 2:15pm: Mastodon
2:45pm - 3:30pm: Deicide
4pm - 4:50pm: OOMPH!
5:15pm - 6:10pm: After Forever
6:45pm - 7:40pm: Agent Steel
8:15pm - 9:15pm: Dimmu Borgir
Well, tight list, not?
Shadows Fall sucked. I knew that already, because I downloaded a couple songs. So we could afford to be a little late.
Mastodon kinda sucked less, but still sucked. So, we had lunch.
Ill Niño was really tight on stage, explosive show, but before the show ended, I had to go to the other stage. Deicide's entrance was something I didn't want to miss.
Well... Deicide is way better on cd. Their show was kind of disappointing. Cool, though, but it wasn't all that great.
Also, before Deicide ended, I rushed back to Stage 1 to see Children of Bodom. Their show kicked so much ass, so hard, loud, explosive, tight and absolutely metal.
Those guys from Finland sure know what true heavy metal means.
This was something to remember. :)
Then.. OOMPH! came on Stage 2. I downloaded a couple songs and didn't find it amuzing what I heard. So we skipped that. We went to the Metal Market where I bought two Zombie shirts and a Maiden shirt! Go me! Also the Murderdolls' Beyond the valley... Re-release with six bonus tracks and a DVD! That rocks.
So yeah, after OOMPH! it was time for Soulfly on Stage 1. I've always liked Max Cavalera... until today.
First they play Roots, which is originally a Sepultura song. I was like: Okay... not that suitable, but I can live with that. Although I was bitching at Max: "THIS IS SOULFLY, NOT SEPULTURA!"
Then they started playing Chaos A.D.!!! Sure, Max might have the rights to those songs, but.. it's just not right.
I walked away shaking my head, time for a drink and something to eat.. again.
Right.. Stage 2 again. After Forever, a Dutch band with hardly any potential in my opinion. The female singer even raped an Iron Maiden song: Run to the Hills. I walked away... again.
Stage 1, Life of Agony! I was so excited for that. But then Keith Caputo opened his mouth... He sodomized his own songs from River Runs Red. Time for another refreshment.
I didn't even bother to see Agent Steel on Stage 2, downloaded a couple songs and it sucked, it was dinner time anyway.
On Stage 1 it was time for Nightwish, we went to the metal market for the second time. I didn't want to hear opera mixed with "metal". I heard a remake of the Phantom of the Opera by them.. it sucked.
BUT THEN!!! STAGE 2!!! DIMMU BORGIR!!!
I had heard that they totally rule with a live performance, but this even exceeded my expectations. (Remember, this was an outdoors event, hardly any acoustics.)
I've never heard any band perform this tight, live. Man.. what a show! Everything was so perfect, nothing could beat this performance, okay... the sun was still shining, that was a bummer. I think it would've been way better with the sun gone, to get the right mood, y'know?

Then, Stage 1 again with Slayer. I didn't expect much from them, even though Dave Lombardo is back.. They're living off of their old fame, it wasn't all that special either. We left before they finished their show.
All in all, it was a great day! I really had a good time out there. Except for Roy, who kept bitching that he wanted to go home.. he shouldn't have done that much alcohol, weed and what not.
He really was wasted, not fun at all.
