I started a Picasa Web account. You can see my photography here: picasaweb.com/takethepicturenow.
Right now, all I have on there are pictures from the Before Time. I've reprocessed most of them so they're presentable. I didn't have high-res scans of all my favorite pictures from the Before Time; maybe I will do that as an ongoing project in the near future. I wish I could take a week vacation to sort through my three shoeboxes of photographs from the Before Time and scan and photoshop the ones I still love. The caveat is that I would want to scan and photoshop them on my work computer because it is immensely more robust than my home computer.
But I did not set up this Picasa Web account to post old photographs! I'm very excited to tell you that I bought a digital camera for the first time in my life! It's scheduled to arrive on Monday and I cannot wait. I bought it from B&H and when I was going through checkout, I was surprised to find that I had never bought anything from B&H online before. I went to MicroCenter today and bought an 8 gigglebyte SD card. I'm having the camera shipped to my office and as soon as it arrives, I'm pretty sure I will not be getting any work done for the rest of the day.
Oh, and the camera model I bought is the Canon G10. It has a dedicated hot-shoe attachment and has support for E-TTL flash metering from Canon Speedlites! Which means I can get a flash unit that works on both my film SLR and my new digital point-and-shoot! There is also an attachment available that would allow me to put filters on the lens, though the only filter I would use on it is a polarizer.
So hopefully you will be seeing some new photography from me very soon. I'm excited and it's been a long time since I've been excited about photography.
