Havent updated in awhile, even though lots has happened.
Last night I couldnt stop puking, that was fun. Didnt have a drop to drink, but it felt like I should have been trashed. I even had to pull over when I was driving home at 2:30 to yak in someone's neighborhood.
Peter and i are going to Chicago in late September, I'm mad pumped about it. It'll be really nice to get away with him, I think we'll have a really good time. Hopefully we'll be able to afford Florida in December for his friend's wedding.
Last night (before pukefest '05) we all went out to dinner because Peter's sister is leaving for college tomorrow. It was pretty sad, I cried a little. It made me feel really good to see Peter's soft side. He really is a great guy and a great brother, and I know he'll make a great father someday.
It continually amazes me how madly in love I am. When I think about Peter, I really wonder why I wasted so much time and effort and tears on anyone else. I'm just not right without him.
I think I've gotten over my "waiting for the ball to drop" period. It's just that everything fell into place so easy... I'd just keep waiting for something to smack me in the face. I love him, I love his family, they love me, everything's great. It's weird to experience a positive kind of stability, when the only kind of stability i've ever known is negative. Big change. But good change.
We were at his cousin's baby shower a couple weekends ago, and it got me thinking. I cant wait until we can have that. It made me wonder what it will be like to put our kids to bed, whether they'll look more like me or him, etc. I used to be so terrified of approaching that part of my life, but now it's so exciting to me.
Anyway, enought of the love-fest. Here's news on the birds:
We got a lovebird, we rescued it from Peter's unlce's stepdaughter. She's sooo pretty and cute and Peter did such a good job training her. She's very affectionate and likes to lick our noses.
Harold (our cockatiel) almost died the other day. Peter took him out of his cage and saw that his beak and feathers on one side were all bloody. So we had to go to the emergency vet (why do these things always happen on a sunday??). Turns out he broke a feather with a blood vein in it and he could have bled to death. He's ok now, but he owes us $147.
