Random thought: if you assume the Doctor has a sexuality, which I generally do, could it change when he regenerates? One more reason not to get involved, really. We don't really know much about the process of regeneration--or, indeed, what determines sexual orientation in humans, let alone Time Lords. It could be an interesting thing to play with.
Would certainly give Ten/Jack another yet another layer of complication (if Nine liked men and Ten doesn't, setting aside whether Ten would be attracted to Jack himself).
