I guess I should get gifts. Westerners get really sentimental this season.

How can you not want in on any holiday where you get to eat yourself sick and give people gifts?

You're probably in it for the eat-yourself-sick part.

Replace the word 'sentimental' with 'greedy.' And you've got the gist of it.

I thought that was a trait year round. It needs a season?

This just gives them an excuse. Because it's the holiday season, we're just supposed to tolerate it.

That's what gets me so frustrated.

You really don't like it when people act selfish. It's probably the hypocrisy that makes you more angry than the actual holidays. You can probably see it most then, huh?

Well not exactly. It's more complicated than that. That's one of the many things I don't like about them. I could do a long-ass post with all the others and I intend to when I get to my boiling point. Which shouldn't be long.

Do you guys have stupid greeting card holidays over thete?

Not really. We have more traditional celebrations. Most merchandising is media related rather than attached to religion. But the religious celebrations do help local crafstmen.

So do you have trouble believing that most people could enjoy the holidays for their true intent?

Face it. The true purpose of the holidays is for the greeting card industries to make a profit.

Without them, they'd be out of business.

I thought that the true purpose of the holidays was for people to relax in commemorative and religious celebrations.

How many cards do you actually get around the holidays? It probably gets kind of tiring when people who don't care about anyone else through the rest of the year get more than you. It seems like you should get some recognition.

That's what they want you to think.

So, I take it therapy didn't pay well enough for you? No. Everybody pretty much knows how I feel about the situation. Believe me. The Hallmark store employees won't even let me in the store any more. I don't want anything from anybody. Words mean a lot more when they're said to your face and not scribbled on some card that you're sending to a bunch of other people.

Nope. I'm a cop. I don't medicate people. But you struck me as the jealous type. Some people seemed to be enjoying themselves, so I was wondering what would get under your skin so badly that you actively try to ruin the experience for them. Especially since usually you're very much about camaraderie and peace. I wouldn't take it out on the ones that just want to do something especially nice for someone.

No.

That's not it. At all.

You're not the jealous type, or you're not trying to ruin the holidays by telling everyone how wrong they are for celebrating them?
