As i sit here at 11:30 with only 30 left of thanksgiving i start to think. "I am thankful" such an easy term to say and slap something at the end of it so that it sounds good. Well after a long day of spending it with my family arguing on and off i am still thankful and with meaning
I am thankful for my family because without them i would have not learned how to grow and to be who i am
I am thankful for my friends because without them i would have to where to turn to escape from the bad times, no one to laugh with, no one to share childhood memories that you will never forget.
I am thankful for amazing people who take me in as their daughter and understand me even if there is no blood connection.
I am thankful that god puts me through tough times so that i may be able to overcome them and make myself a stroger and better person by learning from them
I am thankful for the strength and health to carry on each day
But most importantly, that so many of us forget, while we sit at our tables and eat turkey that was cooked that morning and laugh and talk with our family the troops over in Iraq. They who can not spend this holiday with their familys but instead brothers and sisters of America and who can not enjoy a nice hot turkey out of the oven but a dried food container instead. I am thankful that they are willing to take their holiday to protect all of us in America so that we may enjoy our holiday without worries. And although we may forget someitmes that the reason that we have freedoms, and dont have to worry is because the number of soldiers lost each day is growing i assure you that they never forget about you...
