Today, I heard the most outrageous thing I have ever heard. I was sitting at the computer surfing the interwebs as I often happen to do and I overheard the girl being interviwed on the T.V. from some reality television show and she actually was complaining that her life was so hard because "I'm so different from everyone." I don't even know why this bothers me so much except for the fact that it came out of the mouth of someone who willingly is taking part in an artificially contrived situation whose main point for creating revenue is the conformity it elicits from its "contestants." If your individuality is so important to you that the challenges to it bring you to the point of tears why participate in such a spectacle?
Word.
A woman walked into my place of work just as 2 hispanic men who were obviously speaking Spanish were walking out and she said, "Huh, what were they hispanic or something?" There was a long silence as I gave her a look then I gave my co-worker a look and I finally said, "I think they were Italian." She believed me. I am of the opinion that there must be something wrong when a person is so out of touch with current events that she can not even identify 2 members out of 39 million of her countrymen(latest figures from the U.S. Census Bureau).
