I had my first scam interview yesterday. Apparently these are pretty common because my fiance attended one last year while he was looking for a job. The company I was asked to interview for was Global Solutions, but it turns out that the actual company is called Liquidity International, and Global Solutions is the name of their Austin office. (
Here's how it went: )
I tried to do all the right things. I searched and searched the Internet for "Global Solutions" in Austin to find a company web site. It wasn't until I reached Infospace.com when I matched Global Solutions with the address I was given, and learned the name "Agile Global Solutions." When I researched that company name, I learned of a fairly new IT related company providing staffing solutions. I presumed they wanted to talk to me regarding my IT experience. WRONG!!! What a waste of my time that was. I don't even know if "Agile Global Solutions" is legitimate, or if it is a fake storefront. They advertise IT job opportunities on Dice.com, but it may be a ploy to get folks to send their resumes in.
All I can advise at this time is, "Stay away if you have aspirations of advancing your IT career!"
