What a great day. Dan and I both got a free ice cream cone courtesy of Yahoo.com's 10th birthday (today only, Yahoo members could print out a coupon and redeem it at Baskin Robbins.) I got chocolate eclair. Then, we went to Fry's and I got to play DDR for free! :) It's weird, though, because the first part of my day totally sucked. It was raining really hard when I left for school at 7:00 am this morning, my Physics professor made fun of me in class, and Japanese class was a boring movie day. The worst part was, when I was coming out of Rise of Christianity class, some bitch girl slammed into me so hard that the closed bottle of chocolate milk I was holding got knocked out of my hand and spilled everywhere. Instead of a)apologizing or b) apologizing and offering to clean it up, she merely squealed "Oh my God!" and stepped over the mess she'd created. Fuck you, you clumsy bitch.

I actually posted on deathtokawaii, a community dedicated to bitching about how stupid anime fans are. I read the posts there out of boredom sometimes, but until now I've never actually replied to any of them because, well, that would be like going into a room of hungry dogs wearing a beef jerky facemask. :P But the post above is basically a guy ranting about how anime has always been mainstream and the fans (or "weirdos," as he calls them,) should just get over it. I felt I had to put in my two cents, having written "Diatribe on Otaku" and "Rant in A Minor." His response was surprisingly reasonable, although tinted with the unmistakable bitterness of a disillusioned anime fan. On the other hand, I don't appreciate his insinuation that all anime fans are weirdos with a loose grasp on reality. I'm not going to respond to his rebuttal; I've made my point, and I see no reason to restate it over and over again.
