It's been a bit more than half a year after I came back to Jakarta due to my current job. And as much as I love my job right now, I have to say that it is horribly tiring and scary. But I'm not gonna write about my job in this post (coz it's gonna be boring). Instead, I'll write about my adventure on getting on public transportation in Jakarta.
Ever since I moved back here, I have mostly relied on go-jek or grabbike, as in motorbike taxi. But recently gojek and grabbike increase their price, hence I need more alternative especially if I want to go to downtown or just which is quite far from where I live and work.
Yesterday, when I checked through my gojek and grab app, the fare for a ride from Ahmad Yani to Plaza Senayan was about 34k - 37k. It's quite price for me since with that amount I can have a meal at a fast food restaurant.
Hence, this morning I ended up googling for transjakarta current routes and right at 10 this morning I walked from my apaato to Ahmad Yani shelter. The distance from my apaato to the bus shelter is around 800m, it's more or less 10 minutes walk. Since 2013, Transjakarta has require its passengers to use e-money for paying. What I love about Transjakarta is the flat price, wherever you go, as long as you don't get out of the shelter, you only need to pay Rp 3.500,-. Insanely cheap!!!
Unfortunately, my destination...which I've mentioned earlier (Plaza Senayan) doesn't really have a nearby transjakarta shelter. So my solution is to combine transjakarta and gojek. I'd say that my travel was quite fun. The waiting time at the shelter was actually quite short, approximately under 10 minutes or shorter. I'd say that the current transjakarta bus is quite comfortable. It can get full and hectic at busy hours but since I travelled on weekends, it's much better. So...to compare prices...with gojek/grab I would have to pay 34k minimum, but with transjakarta+gojek (from Bunderan senayan shelter) I paid only Rp 8.500,- in total. Hehh...bloody cheap, lol.
Now, let's move on to what I bought at Plaza Senayan...As I've been a figure skating fan since last year, this time I reserved a photobook. Yepp, a Yuzuru Hanyu season photobook. I've been an avid fan of Hanyu since Helsinki World Championship last year. No words can describe how etheral his skating is. And as some Fanyu said, Yuzu's face is like one out of a manga/anime. While I was there I found Men's Non-no which has Nino on the cover. I was dying to buy it too, but since I'm still tight on budget...yeah, I put it back on the shelves. Let's hope next month they still have some Arashi on the cover of Japanese mags. I'll definitely buy one.
