STOP BEING ANGSTY
I am so SICK of people bitching about Christmas and how much they hate it. It's true that many people are hypocritical and fake at Christmas time, and it's true that the music can get annoying, but there is nothing wrong with Christmas! When you all whine and bitch about it, that just shows you really, really don't understand what Christmas is about. It's a personal thing, a time of reflection for all the good in the world (because, yes, there IS good in the world) and a time to think of ways that you could do your part to help make the world a better place.
Yes, Christmas has been commercialized, and it usually requires too many family get togethers, which can be painful because of the ways people pretend to like each other, but that's no different from any other holiday. Why do people choose Christmastime to get so upset about all the superficialness (if that's a word) in the world? Why do people allow everyone around them to define their lives for them? Can't you be mature enough to take yourself out of what people sometimes unfortunately turn Christmas into, and find your own way to enjoy and celebrate it? I don't care if you sing carols or go around with a big grin on your face, but why can't you take some time to think of ways to improve your life, or to improve the lives of those you love? Why do you think we give Christmas presents? Attempts to make the lives of those we love a little more pleasant. I don't even care if you decide that Christmas is not for you, but you know what, I don't want to hear the same old fucking parroted broken record complaints that everyone seems to feel compelled to say. It's like once you turn 16 you're not cool unless you bitch and act all cynical and world weary at Christmastime. For god's sake people, can we PLEASE drop the fucking angst?!?!

Plus, at the moment I'm really hating George Bush. God, I hate him. I haven't made the connection between him and people being angsty at Christmas time, but I'm sure there's one there, I just have to look hard enough...
