Another Friday night falls upon us and once again, we're sitting here, twiddling our thumbs. There's nothing on TV and nothing to do on the internet. Generally, most people would go out and meet with friends, maybe go to a club or something. Well no, not our group of friends. We USED to hang out. We USED to watch the calendar religiously, waiting for that Friday to come so we can be knee-deep in Orc blood as we hacked and slashed our way to that next batch of experience points. We used to all get together and have a good time, chuckin' dice, laughing and just being general nerds. It was our social activity, and we liked it.
But something has happened. Not just gaming, per se, but something has happened to the group of friends as a whole. People started nitpicking and whining about certain people. "I don't like playing with this person because he does this!" or "I hate the way that person does this" or "I don't want to play in a game where I'm not the center of attention." What has happened to us? What happened to our entire group of friends, where they just don't want to do anything anymore? And I'm not speaking strictly of gaming, I'm speaking just hanging out in general! Does no one want to bother getting off their butt and coming to hang out? It seems that no one wants to chill, but twice a year on the parties and only when there's booze. People don't even want to take the time to come up and just be with people you like hanging out with, despite the bullshit. Now it seems as if we are separated by some unknown force. Whether it be "Oh, my job" or "My parents want me home" or whatever bullshit reason there is. You people were obviously able to take the time off before, what changed? What's different now?
It's times like this, that I just want to get away from the group as a whole, and go find new friends. Friends that aren't as fucking lazy, and that would actually jump at the idea of getting together and hanging out. Not just being generally lazy. I think that's what it is.. I think people are just generally lazy.
Stop. Stop being the lazy people, put aside your differences, and just come hang.. We're just humans.. We only have so much time in this world. Why sit there and mock people, and instead just fucking be with the people you love? fuck your job, there'll be others.. Fuck your family, this is your true family. The one you actually want to fucking be around. Embrace it.
