College days

~~The student withdrawal form has been signed, the student ID has been surrendered, and less than 10 minutes ago, elda is officially no longer an Inti student~~~

I find it kinda sad...not belonging to inti anymore. I've been there for about two years now and despite all those endless rants I used to give about how boring and dull Inti is *grins*, I'm starting to miss it already. I miss hanging out at the cafeteria, the fourth floor discussion area, the lab, the lecturers' offices, the UPO (university placement office..we used to bore Ms.Lina with our constant rants about how slow the unis are coming up with our offer letters..XD)...

Here's a little summary about how my life at inti was since Jan 2007.

I started out at inti doing NSW HSC and I was really glad that a few of us georgians were doing it as well (lynnie was one of them..XD), so I didn't feel lonely and out of place during my first few days of college.

I actually enjoyed the first few months of college - from the freedom to wear anything we want, the freedom to bring handphones :P, to do anything we want; to hunting down places to go for lunch and places to hang out during long breaks..But all of that started to wear off when it comes to the middle of the year. That's when the group-switching started to happen and the people we used to mix with are suddenly not talking and even avoiding each other (there were quite a lot of dramas during the period of time). Up till today, I still haven't quite figured out the reasons for all these (I don't really bother though, as they never actually affect me..im neutral XDD)

And then there was the examination pressure, the constant decrease of grades and some other things (these are unavoidable, as usual..haha)..Overall, my first year of Inti exposed me to a lot of different personalities (taught me alot of stuff about it as well) and although I didn't throughly enjoy last year, I did find some things that are worth to be kept as good memories..:)

Jan 2008

This time, I was very familiar with the college, and on the first day of college itself, I marched to the lecture room, turned on the air-cons and lights (like I always did during HSC; I was normally the first student to arrive..XD) and waited for the others to arrive (ok,I cheated a little here *grins*. Mr.Goh's class was the first class of the sem, and he taught me maths during hsc, so I wasn't nervous about being the first student in class - at all..XDDD)

The semester started out with 10 students, and then the number dropped down to 6. I'm glad that the 6 of clicked really well; we can't afford to have any dramas of any sort and thank god there never was one...

Sem 1 was quite hectic though. At that time, we were still using the old building. The new building was already completed but it still needed to get all those necessary approvals to be fully used. Only the labs and library were open, so it took us a great deal of trouble to ferry between the two buildings to go for labs and classes. Sometimes we even had to make several trips a day to the new building. The fact that the new building is quite far away from the old one didn't help much either; it's 10 minutes away by foot and we had to climb up a muddy slope to get there. So, naturally, most students prefer to drive *winks*

When we finally moved into the new building somewhere in April, the floors were covered in inches of layers of dust almost all the time as the internal renovations were still going on. And yes, our classes were constantly interrupted by the sounds of the drills and machines..lol

In sem 2, only 5 of us remained. One student failed 4 of his 5 subjects so he had to repeat the whole semester..so it was just us five girls..

I really enjoyed this sem. The four of us got closer to each other (we just couldn't stand this other girl..but we didn't avoid her; we still include her in our discussions, we're just not so close) and we got closer to our lecturers, especially our lab assistant, Miss Khaw...we even had lunches together..:)

I felt like i really belonged here this time..Unlike last time, i really looked forward to coming to college, meeting up with my classmates and rant the whole day. It's really nice, we're all (the four of us..XD) very close and we could talk about anything..lol..Of course, one of our favourite topics was the 1000 ways we could come up with to get rid of the other girl..*evil grins* (It was never been put to use..haha..we're not that evil..lol)

I'm really going to miss inti..I don't think I'll ever get to feel the family-like atmosphere there anywhere else. Perhaps this is one of the plus sides of being a such small group. Our lecturers will tell us almost everything about the course, college, *coughs* students and other lecturers..hehe..We're one big group of 'gossipers'..lol..
