Pretty soon this thing is going to just be year in review posts, but I figure it's better than nothing.

2008 | 2010 | 2011 | 2012 | 2013 | 2014 | 2015 | 2016 | 2017

1. What did you do in 2018 that you'd never done before?
House demo work - removed some builders grade built ins in my home office to make room for a craft cabinet

2. Did you keep your new year's resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
Still don't make them

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
A lot of my friends became grandparents, either for the first time or again. Messes with my head.

4. Did anyone close to you die?
I came closer than I want to think about to losing my mom to West Nile. She got encephalitis and meningitis from the virus and was in the ICU/LTAC for nearly a month, but she's coming back. She's beaten the illnesses and is now working on regaining the strength lost from the fight.

5. What countries did you visit?
None

6. What would you like to have in 2019 that you lacked in 2018?
Me time.

7. What date from 2018 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
October 16th, the day my mom was admitted to the first hospital

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Lost 10 pounds on the stress diet.

9. What was your biggest failure?
I'm sure there were more than a few, but drawing a blank

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Spent a month thinking I had IBS, but it was the aforementioned stress diet

11. What was the best thing you bought?
New TV, Amazon Echo, flannel sheets, our new Shiba

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
My husband and my boys. Even with a new puppy and some logistical issues, they didn't blink an eye with the number of times I took off for a long weekend in Ohio to be with my mom as she recovers. Their support left me free to concentrate on mom while I was there.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
Some of the people I work with who continue to get promoted despite being idiots. Also, whomever decided that Agile was the best thing since the gigabyte and everyone should do it.

14. Where did most of your money go?
Tuition, taxes, cars.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
My new crafting cabinet/office renovation (mostly that I did it all myself)

16. What song(s) will always remind you of 2018
No song, but the In Death series audiobooks, for keeping me awake on the 8 hour drive

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:

I. happier or sadder? Same

Alone time, reading, exercise, crochet

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Bitching about shit I can't change

20. How will you be spending the holidays?
We had an amazing Pajama Christmas again. Got some good "oh wow!" presents for the boys that they weren't expecting and were seriously jazzed over. Gets harder as they get older, but I try to get at least one every year.

21. How will you be spending New Year's?
Thought I'd actually be relaxing, but I got pulled in to the same work situation that I have for the past 5 years so, I'll be working till 9

I'm starting to love the new dog, but Chelsea is still my favorite

Those days are over

Don't really watch much TV aside from sports. We're seriously starting to think about cutting the cord. We do love Live PD, tho.

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
No, I don't really hate people. I might hate things they do, tho (this hasn't changed, but there is one woman at work that makes my blood pressure rise every time I hear her voice, also, anyone that extols the virtues of Agile.)

26. What was the best book you read?
Doctor Sleep, The Outsider, Celeste trilogy, Simon vs the Homo Sapien Agenda

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Spotify (I know, but I'm old), Music Choice Soundscapes channel (perfect for weekend mornings)

Crochet, being out on the water, cuddling my Shiba

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
None, really

36. What political issue stirred you the most?
Ha. As if I could name just one. Or name anything.

37. Whom did you miss?
Even tho she's getting better, I missed my mom for the month she was too out of it to know who she was, let alone me.

38. Who was the best new person you met?
Our new Shiba, Kuma
