Repeating what I said on Facebook:
I will say this - the US has absolutely nothing to hang their heads about in this World Cup. They played a phenomenal game, an incredible tournament, and they will be a force to be reckoned with in 2018.
Tim Howard. I have no words for you, sir, other than most saves in recorded World Cup history. Says it all.
I have no words for the level of awesome the US achieved holding Belgium scoreless through regulation and then the kid - his first touch in his first cap...and he scores. Just amazing. And they nearly pulled off the equalizer. Wondo, poor lad, is going to replay that miss for years, I'm afraid, but 2018 is looking pretty favorable. If we can take care of that twitchy hamstring problem.
Now, though, I can relax. No emotional investment (well, I'll be torn during France v. Germany because both teams are filled with Gunners.
I'd love to see Costa Rica and Columbia move on, too. And Holland. Still lots of good soccer to come.
This has been an amazing Cup.
