Nope, I'm not home yet. That joy is for tomorrow as I dodge thunderstorms during the two legs of our flight home.
Upgraded myself to First Class on the flight from Newark to Cleveland (for $100!), and sat behind Jason Alexander (Seinfeld's George). Because my hatred of cloying fangirls knows no bounds because of what they do/are doing to a certain Twilight star, I did not approach him. Instead I wrote him a note, thanking him for sharing his talent, proclaiming myself a fan, and telling him flat out I didn't want to intrude, signed my name and dropped it on his armrest on my way back to my seat. At the end of the flight, he unbuckled, turned around and asked "Are you Libbie?" He thanked me for the note, shook my hand, and I was thrilled. No picture, no autograph, but a memory of a lifetime and the satisfaction that I was able to express my fangirl without intruding and giving him the option to acknowledge or not.
Spent a week with the whole family at a house on Lake Erie - without major fight or catastrophe despite 3 days of cold, rainy weather that had us stuck indoors. Things were incredible - playing with their younger cousins, I learned that both boys love to play cards and Thing1 plays Hearts really well.
Found some great junk shops in the small "resort" town where we stayed as someone (who shall remain nameless) will find out soon enough. /cryptic
Due to above rainy weather, we went to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame one day. Uber cool. Got to touch the glass right outside guitars and memorabilia from REM, Joan Jett (still snubbed - this is a crime), Bruce Springsteen (the Born in the USA jeans and TShirt esp), Johnny Cash (including his tour bus), etc etc etc. It was awesome on so many levels. Even the boys were enthralled.
There's loads more - but I'm getting A Look about still being on the computer. Nope, that hasn't changed. I've been relegated to Blackberry for email and stuff for most of the week. The only serious downfall.
It's odd. I want to be home, I'm ready to be home, in my house, with my stuff and no eagle eyes every time I go near my computer. At the same time, I don't want to go home. Back to work. Back to the house I'm hating because it needs so much cosmetic work that I can't seem to get done for one reason or the other.
Ah well. For those needing me on AIM/YM, I'll be back on tomorrow night.
Peas out.
