(no subject)
All in all, it wasn't a craptacular birthday as these things go.
A cube decorated to the hilt with Over The Hill balloons, glitter, and banners declaring my advanced age (courtesy of my coworkers).
Took off from work at noon - ahhhh bliss.
A set of new tires for the Jeep (gift that keeps on giving, I'm tellin' ya, especially as my old ones were really bad and driving in Hanna's rain last week was downright scary).
A spa pedicure (ahhhhh).
Dinner at my favorite Japanese steakhouse (mmmm tuna sushi and hibachi chicken) with, gasp, the whole family.
A surprise check for $300.
Finished a series I'd been reading while waiting for the above mentioned tires to be put on and...wasn't entirely let down, but it was enough to appease me. I just tend to like the ships no one else does and rarely get to see them happen in canon - Twilight was the big exception (*cuddles her Team Edward*).
Found a new series while in B&N perusing the fourth book in the series I just finished (decided not to buy it) and hope it's good. (a href="http://www.amazon.com/Warrior-Heir-Cinda-Williams-Chima/dp/0786839163">The Warrior Heir - anyone? anyone?)
All in all, a pretty good day!
