so this last week (i guess it is a litter further away from now than i previously supposed) was my finals week, and then my mom flew up to oakland on friday and i picked her up and we went into San Francisco for the weekend.
We had a LOT of fun. i really like spending time with my mom, as long as it is not a lot of time as her being my mother. it helps to modify the mother-daughter relationship into one of companionship and friendship, not a superior-inferior relationship. we went shopping, a lot. while we were there dad called and their credit card number had been used fraudulently online by someone, weird charges like fredericks of hollywood and aol, and amazon. so they canceled their credit card and upped the limit for jeff's and my credit card. so we used my credit card most the time for my mom's purchases, and i used cash (i hardly ever use the credit card for myself unless i am stuck with low money before a paycheck). it was kinda funny, because it made it seem like my mom was more dependent on me than i was on her. so we went to AE, Abercrombie, Anthropologie, Nordstroms, Gap, Forever 21 (it was bigger, but grungier even than the one in stockton!), Urban Outfitters, Talbots, Ralph Lauren, Macys, Williams and Sonoma, Barnes and Noble, Borders, Brooks Brothers, JCrew, Victoria's Secret, Ann Taylor, Old Navy, (which i must say had AMAZING deals, i got 4 really nice presents for 45$), Ghiridelli Square and the hat shop, Fishermen's wharf, Chinatown (also with good deals for stocking stuffers), All along market street, and to some wonderful resturants and movies. I got a nice shirt and sweater at AE, and another good sweater at JCrew. I got cowgirl boots at macys (thanks to my nana looking out for me and secretly sending along spending money, i love my nana). The boots were actually a really good deal, they were on sale from 169$ to 109$, and then there was a 10% special morning discount on boots, so it came out to be about 104$ total. There was a mishap where we put them on hold and when we came back to get them they had lost them, but all is well now. oh and macys had the CUTEST idea. in their windows, instead of having their own stuff, they had windows with play things and bedding, and food- and BABY puppies and kitties. they were soooo so so so sweet. there were black lab-australian collie mixes, for the puppies, and a ton of assortment of kitties. ive gotten a kitty or christmas when i was 6 or so, it was the most exciting thing ever. we had to stop and see them many times.
i got all my presents for everyone, for my friends and brother and parents, and will. im excited to give them now, but i suppose for some i will have to wait. i also am waiting for after christmas sales, for some other presents i will give after i get back to school.
mom and i ate out at some really nice places, but none too very expensive. overall it was a very fun weekend. but now i am home, and glad to be ehre, though not glad to go down to the hospital and work, which i must do to finance several of my liesure activites (like going to movies and gas money and after christmas shopping and saving for a cruise). but that is tomorrow, and i have all day today to run errands, wrap presents, go to the dentist, etc. oh joy. love to all!
