Happy Chanukan

Happy Chanukan, the Jewish festival of lights ends tomorrow at dawn. But for the night it is a night of joy and celebration. Another year survived and another year rejoiced. Solstice is coming up, the longest night of the year and a special night for myself. For the Christians, Christmas, and for all the other numerous religions in the world, their special times of the year. But for me, this time of year is special. A time for family and friends and to be thankful for all the things that you have. Not the material things, but a roof over your head, warm food and clothing, people who care. The important things in life, not how many gifts you will get, or how much is spend.

A time of year I was so desperately looking forward to last year. For this time last year, I was homeless.
