So I started writing my response and it grew into a lard reply, clearly demonstrating my geekiness. So I figure maybe some one else would care what I thought about the movie, and the future of Batman movies. Here is what I had to say:
This movie is not in the line of the Michael Keaton movies. those were fake batman movies. (That may just be my opinion). This is a retelling of the Batman story based on several Graphic novels (Batman: Year One, Batman: Hush, Batman: Dark Knight Returns, Batman: The Long Halloween, Batman: Dark Victory, and Batman: Haunted Knight), . There are defiantly other movies coming up. I have read some Internet chatter on the subject and who will be in it. And yes, the next one will have the Joker, but no one has said who will play Joker. The girl who played the DA/love interest is dropped from the next film. I am hoping the next movie has no "love interest" other than the floosies Bruce keeps around to maintain his playboy image (I am buying this Hotel).
What will be great about the next film (like Spiderman 2) we will not have to watch all the origin stuff and the story will be able to focus more fully on the problems at hand (Joker...etc) and the hopefully the Characters, with out having to buy all the gadgets etc, even though that was fun too. I mean we already know him.
Other villains they have not used yet in the Batman’s include (Stars indicate how much I want them to be in a fill out of 5 stars): Catwoman (who unfortunately was ruined in the Catwoman movie) Two face*****, Riddler***, Bane****, Poison Ivy***, Mr. Freeze* (You may thinking that all these people were in the batman movies, but those people were not the real characters. I think most Batman readers would agree)Clayface****, Killer Croc****, Man-Bat, Harley Quinn***** (She is kind of a side kick for Joker should be in next movie), Mad Hatter*, Scar Face*, Black Mask***,
People already in the movie but should be explored more: RA'S AL GHUL***, Zazzxac (sp?). He was one of the main unnamed guys who escaped Arkham Asylum in the movie. You may have seen his scars. He scars himself every time he kills some one. Really crazy dark character, that should be explored more I think.
Also, Batman deals with real life issues, which could be very good for a movie. Fighting “real” crime like rape, mass/murder, pedophilia (there is an excellent Novel based on this that could be adapted), larceny, organized crime.*****
Batman Allies could include: Robin***** (either male or female), Commissioner Gordon *****(more character development!!!) Nightwing***, Oracle****, Huntress*, Batgirl* (who would be much different than the Alicia Silverstone one)
