Attn: Lutheran Teachers/teachers to be
I am a member of a Lutheran Email group, and I received an email from a conservative congregation that had a list of qualifications for which they are looking. They are the following:
- Positively Lutheran (knows the small catechism and willing to
learn it by heart)
- An appreciation for Lutheran Liturgy
- An advocate of the loving practice of closed communion
- A love for working with children of all ages, specifically
kindergarten through eighth grade
- Understands the office of teacher to flow from the 4th
commandment (from parents)
- Enjoys the challenges and blessings of a multi-grade classroom
- Administrative experience and capable of teaching and
administrating a small school
- Able to organize and make use of volunteers
I have a question about one of these qualifications in particular, The understanding of the teaching ministry flowing from the fourth commandment. Maybe I have been explained this in a class at some point but, "what does this mean?"
