so that was the funnest community service i'v ever done.
We got to be victims in the disaster relief drill. it was great because usually people dont know about it before it happens. so we were lucky to get to be a part of it.
i got in an accident right before it. i was turning left to go to the parking lot of the football field. and some lady wasnt paying attention and ran into the back of my car. my cars fine so its all good. i'm just a little sore. it wasnt big or anything, just sort of sudden.
we all got onto a transit bus and were taken to sequim fire department. where we got our moulage, or however its spelled, which is just a fancy word for makeup.
then we got back on the bus and went to the field.
you could see it from the road, it was a huge fire, and there were cars and stuff that were on fire. it was rad looking.
where we got off the bus and walked over to the fire or collapsed building
and then they assessed our injuries and stuff. and put us on the appropriate tarps. red for the people hurt really bad who needed the most care. yellow for people who have serious injuries but not life threatening or something. and green for walking wounded, people who are hurt but can still walk and stuff.
and we sat there for a while.
and rode on a van to the hospital, where we went through triage
i went to short stay, and my friend danni who had a pole through her stomach went to expectant, which means they are expected to die.
then they fed us and stuff
i had a head injury and an arm injury, no one really noticed my head injury or that i was cyanotic (turning blue due to loss of blood) , they only noticed my second degree burn on my arm.
it was a great experience. and i was glad i woke up at 5 am to go!
