The internets they be a churning: Rob to replace Zac in HS2
Okay. I meant to do a 2008 rumor roundup but due to circumstances outside my control... I haven't yet done it. But here's the first official rumor of 2009 (I think). And the awesomest thing about it, is how you can actually see the manipulation of the story into the rumor.
The original story... basically a fan wish:
Robert Pattinson fans really want Hairspray director Adam Shankman to cast their favourite actor in Hairspray 2: White Lipstick.
Rob has proved that he can act and sing so should easily be able to fit in with the rest of the Hairspray cast.
Rob can compete with Zac Efron, Elijah Kelly and James Marsden in the good looking stakes so Adam shouldn't have to worry about that.
His hair might be short now but once he begins filming New Moon he will return to Edward Cullen's longer locks.
His hair would be the the ideal length to be slicked back into a 60s style.
If Robert was cast in Hairspray 2 it would be the first musical he has ever been in and would prove to everyone that he is the best actor around.
Adam could even cast Rob as the villian of the movie if he wanted. It is thought that Michelle Pfeiffer wouldn't be returning for the second film.
Second story:
The Twilight star is following in the more established heartthrob's footsteps in more ways than one.
Robert is said to be on casting directors' wish list for the upcoming sequel to Hairspray - which was Zac's first big screen hit.
And if that isn't enough of a kick in the teeth for the High School Musical star, Rob is reportedly going to being making movie magic with Zac's girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens.
Vanessa is rumoured to be in the frame to play Leah in the Twilight sequel New Moon.
We wonder how long it will be before Vanessa trades in Zac for the new, improved version?
I love it when you actually see the bullshit happening. It's like some perverted version of telephone.
And the Vanessa-Rob-Zac love triangle is amusing me too. Seriously. Vanessa and Nikki are friends (per recent papz pics) and Nikki is going out with Rob (per recent blind item). I mean, cheating with someone's best friend's boyfriend happens, but even I don't think Vanessa would do that.
