Article: Meet The Guy Who Helps Zac Efron Get Those Awesome Abs - wgno
He’s got big muscles and big celebrity clients.

You’re about to meet the personal trainer to the stars of Hollywood South.

No need to guess what Aaron Williamson’s true passion is. His bulging biceps and chiseled chest are total giveaways.

Fitness became Williamson’s passion while in the Marine Corps.

“As my time progressed in the Marines, fitness became a sanctuary and a place of peace for me. When I had some tough times, I knew I could always turn to the gym. It became a savior for me,” he said.

This 240-pound muscle man moved to New Orleans for contract work from Iraq. He soon made a connection at the gym with a certain Hollywood hunk who was looking to gain muscle mass for a film.

“Ended up meeting Zac Efron. He was filming “The Lucky One”. We connected. He plays a Marine in the movie and I taught him how to be a Marine. Zac’s a really cool and funny guy. He’s very intense about training. His best body part is definitely his abs and chest. I’m jealous of his chest, and he knows it too,” Williamson said.

Now that he’s a film industry fitness expert, Efron isn’t his only celebrity client. In Hollywood South, he’s worked with Sylvester Stallone, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Josh Brolin, Adrien Brody, Hayden Christensen, Jamie Foxx and James Marsden.

“James Marsden is getting stacked for his new movie, “Best of Me”. Fans will enjoy seeing him all muscled-up.”

Williamson said he feels very blessed to be working in the film industry with so many talented folks.

“I’ve been extremely fortunate to work with extremely talented actors. The majority of the time an actor will come to me because of the way they need to look like for a film,” he said.

So how exactly did Aaron help Zac Efron get those awesome abs?

“We keep the training very functional. We focus on cardio training. We keep his dieting up, work with his metabolism, and keep his eating in check. It’s a six-pack abs year-round type of program.”

He remembers one time, Efron wanted to work out so bad, nothing could stop him.

“He came in straight from set and he was all muddy from the rain. We trained in sneakers, shorts, no shirt, and he was all muddy. There was humor in that,” Williamson said.

From actors to TV Reporters, everyone needs a good personal trainer. From the marines to the movies, Aaron is making a major mark.

He just signed on with Scene Magazine to write a weekly health and fitness column and he’s a stunt man in the new Terminator.

ETA a little bit more about Aaron and Zac working together from an article in Scene Magazine:
After relocating to the Crescent City in June of 2009, Aaron found that funding cuts had eliminated his position. “It left me in a pretty bad place. But I went back to the mindset I had throughout my entire Marine Corps career: when I didn’t have anywhere to turn, I always had the gym. I started working out trying to keep myself sane and in shape. And then, one day at the gym, I ended up meeting an actor who showed me a glimpse of the film industry.”

The actor was Zac Efron. The High School Musical star was in New Orleans to film The Lucky One, in which he plays a Marine home from Iraq. “We met through the trainer he had at the time, Logan Hood,” Aaron says. “Logan’s a former Navy Seal who trained the cast for 300.” More recently, Hood has worked on The Expendables 2 and the reboot of RoboCop.

“From the production’s standpoint, there was a need to get Zac into the character of being a Marine. Zac and I connected, we hit it off and he told production about me,” Aaron says. “I met with production and I became part of the crew as his military advisor. I helped Zac become a Marine for that film. Walk like a Marine. Talk like a Marine. I shared what it’s like to be over in Iraq. Towards the end of the film, we jumped into the training a little bit and to this day, Zac and I keep in touch. I help him through all his movies with his training and his fitness consulting and nutrition.”

p.s. can we all lol together at the terrible manecrush tweet? like generally speaking his twitter has been pretty great: for the most part they are good at being clear who is posting zac or #teamze (hope they never stop that) and it is not too reserved but not too personal/overshare (though i could really live without the instagram to gianluca but whatever, gratitude for a nice trip). but, pun aside, posting those pics was ick... it just lends itself to the famewhore, i called the paparazzi 'for attention' and/or 'to see me with a girl' narrative that haters and weirdos (who ignore that he really rarely has papz pics and/or who can't accept he fucks girls) hoot and holler about. it just keeps people from taking him seriously and since his rep is already shaky after breaking his face and getting in a dubious fight, drawing attention to this shit doesn't help.
