Can't embed: KTLA and Seth w/ E!

Articles

E!, Marc Malkin:
Zac Efron has been sharing a lot of screen time lately with, well, dildos!
In his last movie, That Awkward Moment, he had one hanging out of his pants when he dressed up as a rocker when he mistakenly thought he was going to a costume party.

And in his new comedy, Neighbors, there are a variety of phallic rubber sex toys throughout the sure-to-be-a-hit flick.

"Dildos are just funny," Efron told me last night at the Neighbors premiere in L.A.

Or as his co-star Seth Rogen said, "Just the word is pretty hilarious. It's one of the funniest words of all time."

"I was worried about how many d--k jokes there were," Efron said of the Nicholas Stoller-directed flick, which also stars Dave Franco, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Ike Barinholtz and Jerrod Carmichael. "I was like, 'Guys, we're going overboard.' There were...a lot of them are in the movie."
No worries, he was happy with the end result. "Turns out you can get a movie through with a lot of d--k jokes," Efron said.

And then there's Mr. Efron's own manhood. In That Awkward Moment, he came thisclose to showing us what he's got when he stripped down to lay over a toilet to pee after taking Viagra. And just last week, a video went viral of Rogen gushing over how "beautiful" Efron's penis is.

Could the former High School Musical star see himself flashing it all on the big screen one day? "Full frontal? I don't know, man," Efron said. "This movie makes me concerned because they could probably get me to do anything if they ask. Who knows? I'm not going to say yes or no yet."

Fingers-crossed.

People, Reagan Alexander and Tim Nudd:

Zac Efron says he idolized his Neighbors costar Seth Rogen before they ever met. But the feeling, unfortunately, wasn't mutual.

"I was expecting to not like him very much when I first met him," Rogen, 32, told PEOPLE with a laugh at the movie's premiere Monday in Los Angeles. "The first time I met him I assumed he'd be a little f-er, but that was eight years ago."

Rogen adds: "I was proven very wrong because he's a sweet, nice guy … He was just so nice, cool and very self-aware and self-effacing and endearing, and all those things that make someone hard to hate."

For Efron, 26, it was important to get Rogen to come around.

"I really made some extra effort, and after a while I think I wore him down a bit," he says. "I've respected Seth since the first movie that I saw him in. He rebranded comedy, and I identified with it, every single part of it: mind, body and spirit. That's how I want to be."

Variety, Justin Kroll:
Though school isn’t quite out yet for UCLA students, Universal started the summer season early with its Monday premiere of “Neighbors” at Westwood’s New Regency theater.

Stars Seth Rogen and Zac Efron were joined by Dave Franco, Ike Barinholtz, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Halston Sage, Jerrod Carmichael, helmer Nicholas Stoller, producers Evan Goldberg and James Weaver, Universal execs Ron Meyer, Donna Langley, Jeff Shell and Brian Roberts, and guests Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Jason Reitman.

Rogen called the shoot “controlled chaos,” but said he wasn’t surprised by how well Efron fit in with the other comedic actors.

“We knew early on he could be really funny and he actually exceeded our expectations,” Rogen said.

Despite the fact that Efron recently took home an MTV Movie Award for Best Shirtless Performance in “That Awkward Moment” and gave an abs-baring acceptance speech, Rogen said he never felt the need to slim down for the “Neighbors” shirtless scenes.

“I think I actually gained more pounds for this part,” Rogen said. “I knew the juxtaposition would be important and I think it played very well.”

At the Hammer Museum after-party, guests were able to relive their college days playing games of flip cup and beer pong while enjoying drinks out of red solo cups.

THR, Kanika Lal:
It was college all over again at Monday night's premiere of Neighbors at the Regency Village Theater in Westwood. UCLA students skipped their midterm studying as they waited anxiously on the sidelines to catch a glimpse of their favorite stars and snap selfies.

The budding "bromance" of co-stars Zac Efron, Seth Rogen and Dave Franco was evident throughout the night as they celebrated the release of their latest film and gave their fans the attention they wanted.

"I wanted to make a movie where people can have a party for 90 minutes without feeling hung over the next day," said director Nicholas Stoller (Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Get Him to the Greek). "And I wanted to make it a tiny bit emotional where you can relate to it whether you just had a baby or you're graduating college."

Originally titled Townies, the project turned into Neighbors, a title pitched by Universal, according to Stoller, who held a contest on set for who could come up with a new title. The prize: a year's supply of beer.

"Normally in Seth's movies, he's combative," said co-producer Evan Goldberg. "In this, though, Rose Byrne and him are a team. They are both stupid people in a dumb mission that they shouldn't be doing. Added co-producer James Weaver, "[Rogen] is an adult in the movie, which people are talking about. Zac is the kid, and Seth is doing adult things."

While shooting a party scene, Efron broke his hand in a fight scene with co-star Franco. "He was acting hard; he was a little method," said Weaver.

"I do know this guy," said Efron on how he got into his role. "He's a version of several of my best friends and different shades. I've been around a guy a lot like this."
