But I don't get the laced dress shoes without socks. He's done this before. Did someone put out a memo that I didn't receive?

It's been around for a minute, mostly it's seen with a slide-on leather loafer, but more and more it's also done with lace up dress shoes. Walk into any high end retail boutique like Saks/Barneys/YSL, etc and most the (male) sales reps are running around in a loafer/laced shoe sans socks.

I get the sockless loafers, that look goes back decades and I kind of like it. But I just can't adjust to laced dress shoes without socks. Ew.
