This is totally just an excuse to post...

my latest re-find. LOL.

Zac from M Magazine, May 2006:

I never actually posted anything about all the Spider-Man rumors swirling around Zac. I was going to post something else and kind of mention it in passing, but then other things came up and I never did. So now I will.

I think we all know that Zac would love to be Spider-Man. If the project is successful, there are obviously a lot of benefits to reap. New male demographic, franchise staying power, etc. But overall it is kind of a big risk.

The project has a lot going against it now. Fans were angry to begin with about how the films had sucked and then they were angry that it was being rebooted. There are many uncertainties, the concept of going back to high school with the franchise, possibly basing it off of Ultimate Spider-Man (written, coincidentally by Brian Michael Bendis who wrote Fire), and having Mark Webb as director. Will the script and vision being brought to the project be enough for success?

And comic fans would certainly rebel against him. Him signing on for a lesser-known work like Fire is one thing but one of the biggest franchises in comic book history? Of course, some of that dislike is unfair but some maybe is justified. I mean, let's just be honest... as much of a nerd as he may be inside he unfortunately (in this case lol) is very pretty. Can they make him nerdy enough:

Is that enough? IDK.

Obviously this all may be a moot point because Sony could be totally not interested in him (or any other known/big star).

In the end, if both parties are interested I trust Zac and co. will evaluate the project carefully before making a decision.

But enough of all that. Here is the most ridiculous version of Zac being Spider-Man ever, courtesy of the Daily Star.

ZAC TO BE NEXT SPIDEY
By Daily Star reporter [LOL]

HIGH School Musical heartthrob Zac Efron is set for a £9million pay day as he takes on the role of Spider- Man.

He will replace Tobey Maguire in the fourth blockbuster movie, due to start shooting later this year and scheduled to hit cinemas in 2012.

Tobey, 34, stunned bosses at Universal Pictures last year when he announced he was quitting the megabucks franchise.

But a studio insider revealed: “After dumping Spidey, Tobey then came to the rescue by recommending that Zac should take over his role.”

Producers believe the 22-year-old, who has a huge teen following, will bring new fans to the Spider-Man series by playing the reluctant hero and his alter ego Peter Parker.

They are also believed to be considering reuniting Zac with his High School Musical co-star Vanessa Hudgens, 21.

She is hotly tipped to replace Kirsten Dunst, 27, as Spider-Man’s love interest and the source added: “It would be a great coup to land her as well.

“The franchise would be revitalised and transformed by two of Hollywood’s most gifted and fast-rising
