What better way to pass the time and distract myself from my sore throat and wicked sunburn than to update the wedding progress!
As we're getting married in Victoria, but (un)fortunately live in Vancouver, we've decided that the first major purchase will be to hire a wedding consultant to do all of the leg work and venue/vendor hunting that we can't do.
We decided on a company called Sweet Beginnings, who seem reputable and have an office based out of Victoria. We're using their "Out of Town" package, which basically means that they get an idea of what we're looking for and then do the actual scouting and negotiating themselves. Which is good, because Adam and I can't exactly flounce off to Victoria every time we need to pick a vendor.
As well as hunting for wedding vendors, they'll also help us coordinate out of town bookings for guests and will be there for 8 hours on the actual wedding day, to run interference, etc. This is especially important to us as Adam's mom had a nightmare experience at wedding where she had to run around doing the majority of the set up. We want the wedding to be just as much a day for our families as it is for us, so we want someone else doing the dirty work!
I'm also a big huge nerd and made an excel spreadsheet with loads of wedding time lines and budgets. w00t.
