I'm getting excited! I bought a blue suit and yellow dress shirt this past weekend . . . now that doesn't sound too great, except in combination on me, they look just like the outfit Spike Spiegel from Cowboy Bebop wears! Okay, you're still wonderiing why this is a good thing. It means I can dress up as Spike for A-Cen, which has been my aim for a while. I mean, I'm tall and got bushy hair and love bounty hunting. It's the perfect combination!! And it was only $11 total! Of course, I still have to get a thin black tie, but that'll be easy... Much love to Katie and Tiffany for helping me find it!
In other cosplay news, I'm also going to be dressing up as Ryuichi from Gravitation because while thrift shopping for Spike clothes, we also found a flowery shirt that looks just like Ryuichi's concert shirt from episode 8. Of course, it's not perfect, but it's pretty darn cool, and a girl from club, Amanda, is working on making it perfect.

And that Amanda girl is also making me the military uniform for my favorite character ever, Maes Hughes from Full Metal Alchemist. Now I'm going to be him for all of AnimeNorth in varying outfits. I already have a civilian costume, but I also want his pjs. They're pink and covered with little yellow chicks...I want it! The anime conventions are going to be so much fun . . .
In school-wise news, lab is still killing me. Fortunately, I only have one more lab period, one more lab report to turn in, and the final exam. *sigh* Hardest 3 credits EVER.
My mircobiology teacher is a real idiot. I'm taking MMG 301: Introduction to Mircobiology. The syllabus says that we are supposed to cover the entire book that we are assigned. So far we have covered only chapters 5 and 7, which is pretty much just Microbial Genetics, which just happens to be the prof's field of study. Conicendence? Methinks not. And because he's an "expert" in the field, his tests are uber detailed. And because he's from "Paraguay", his tests are worded poorly and without understandable English. And because he's a "*******", I want to stab him repeatedly with a blunt, wooden spoon until I have gouged out his internal organs in an artistic display of blood and poetry (I like to quote prose as I murder).
Spring has sprung, which means wonderful weather! Except of course for today, with the chilliness and the forecasted snow. Good ol' Mother Nature needs to take a look at the calendar.
I'm staying here for the summer! I got a job as a Conference Assistant, which pays for my room, board, AND food in Holmes Hall. Basically I'll be acting like a Resident Mentor to kids who come up here for camps over the summer. It'll mostly be high school kids, so I should get along with them. I'll also have the first month (most of May) without having to work as a CA....high school kids don't get out until June. YES!! Of course, that means I'll be working in the lab even more. That's the main reason I want to stay up here for the summer, so I can work in the lab. Dr. Benning will actually be paying me! 40 hours of lab work=more moola that I made last summer. *rubs hands together* muwahahahah.....
That's about it . . . I've discovered a new webcomic that is really really funny. The guy mostly makes fun of video games, which I can relate well with. Especially Link....poor Link. *sniff* Try it out
http://www.vgcats.com/ Well, I guess my break is about over (I'm at research lab waiting for this reaction to get done with so I can go home). I'll probably update in another month or so.
Mongooses like colorful chemicals......
