Stepping off the bus my chucks felt great. Not as comfortable as the pillowy inside of Sandra's new Saucony kicks, but good enough for me. I guess the dual side vents keep my socks dry, ergo without the footy funk. I began walking under the highway -- halfway under the eave of the monstrous concrete byway, the sky was cloudless and as blue as ever. The air was crisp; had it not been for the brief olfactory interruption by the Nimitz traffic, it almost would have been pleasant and sweet smelling.
I spied a homeless man doing his morning exercises and my mind wondered about this faceless individual. I had never seen him before. He stood on a hilly rise contrasting with the depth of the steel grated runoff drain. Years of rain and natures patchwork erosion transformed a normal hill into a quasimodoified hump.
The traffic going West-bound was stopped a block away, so I jay-walked across the street. Same thing on the East-Bound side... +2 points for the day.
Heading down a slope I saw the gardeners at work trimming the property shrubbery. From the looks of it, the property will be planted with a new type of herbage, can't wait to see what they choose.
I crossed the parking lot in a daze, up the stairs, and into Starbucks™. Noticed the engagement ring on the barista's finger. Ordered my tall mocha whip and headed into the elevator.
