Le gecko bébé rencontre de caméléon

So I passed my second test on my goal of earning a MCSD.Net certification.

I still shook, an hour late, from the Redbull I tossed back during breakfast. I don't know what I can say about the test, though I will say that 70-310 was harder than 70-305.

This morning, I went downstairs to check my mail. Dayle leaves her keys on the glass topped table, in the space I assume would be our kitchen if we were a family -- alas we are just room mates. Downstairs, I crossed my fingers hoping my tax return would show it's dead-president-face.

*open*

*nothing*

Back up stairs I went and got a drink of water, as I do every morning. I then peered into the flower-pot-sans-plant and checked a ziploc bag where I saved a gecko egg I found a month ago.

To my surprise, the egg was cracked. I took out the bag so I could investigate. And there the little dude was. A new baby gecko, chillin on the bottom of the bag. I ignored my urge to go upstairs and inform Dayle about our new visitor. Instead, I corraled the gecko out by poking my fingers on the side opposite of where I wanted him to go. He popped onto my finger and I cautiously, so as not to drop him, walked out the door, down the stairs, and into the yard. it was raining and I wasn't sure where to put him/her since I didn't know how susceptible baby gecko are to weather ... then, before I could place him on a ledge, or branch. He hopped off and onto the concrete pathway. He scurried off before I could pick him up again.

Feeling elated, that the egg had indeed hatched -- and not gone rotten due to my handling. I cajoled upstairs and got ready for work.
