You ever have a meal so good, you don't want to even drink anything afterwards, because you don't want to lose the taste? I just took Hubby to the
Ferry House in Princeton for his birthday dinner, and this was quite possibly one of the top 5 best meals I've ever had!
Hubby started with their famous crabmeat margarita, which is crabmeat and avocado with a little spicy salsa. Huge gorgeous chunks of crabmeat! I had a "tian" of crabmeat and shrimp, also with avocado, and beets and mandarin oranges! Hey, guess what: I like beets! They were really good!
For main course, I had seared sashimi-grade tuna (rare, of course) with a creamy sauce, and more avocado and crabmeat with some potatoes. Awesome. Hubby had grilled fillet of beef with mashed potatoes and simply amazing short ribs. He would take a bite, and sit there with his eyes closed, savoring it. (This is as close to church as his atheist butt is going to get.)
For dessert, I had hazelnut ice cream with a bit of chocolate cake; Hubby had their sampler, which was a small creme brulee, coconut tart thing, and chocolate cake. And they stuck a candle in his tart, cuz I told them it was his birthday. Just an amazing evening with perfect food.
