Seriously. I'm watching it right now and it's...kind of ridiculous.
Anyway, I should share updates, shouldn't I?
That'd be the proper thing to do.
Well, the week before Halloween I went home for my sister's birthday (she's all grown up!), which was great. I like going home and spending time with my wacky family. I came back Friday and got to go to our school's Halloween Dance, which was nerdtastically fun. There was a group of Harry Potter characters, Mario characters, Scott Pilgrim characters...there was even a trio dressed as the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. Seriously. Well, it was great fun. I went as a rogue from a Dungeons and Dragons/general roleplaying party; one roommate went as a battle monk, the other as a priestess for our party. After the party we changed and went to the beach at night. It was amazing because it was the first time I went to our beach at all, and then at night! The moon was full so you could see everything perfectly. Just...amazing. I believe that Sunday my Booth and Pam showed up--I got to see them after not being able to physically be with either since summer. We spent the day hiking, eating pizza, and showing Booth "Labyrinth" (much to the amusement of Pam and I). I miss them both. Damn the two of you for going to a school several hours away!
Then there was schoolwork, then Halloween weekend I went to a play that scared the ever loving SHIT out of me called "The Woman in Black." Roomie Rainbow saw it in England and told us about it last year, and when she found out it was coming here convinced us we HAD to go see it. Let me tell you, it was ten dollars well spent. I almost jumped out of my seat and screamed at one point. I knew it was coming and yet I still flipped out--so they did a damn good job. I would highly recommend this play to anyone. Seriously, go see it.
Weekend after that was the anime club event--Halloween Fest Cafe. It caused a little too much stress and more dorm room drama that really was not needed or wanted by, well, anyone at that point. Some members showed up late, some showed up drunk, several didn't do their jobs...yeah. Personally I had fun--I ran a fortune-telling booth and did tarot style readings for people. I enjoyed it more than I thought I would; it was quite rewarding. My roommates were not quite so happy, and understandably so. It was an interesting weekend.
This week(end) was a Deathmarch. It was a Deathmarch in that I got little sleep and was severely overbooked for all my schoolwork. See, THIS is why I decline to do the NaNoWriMo in November. I think next time I'll do it with Gina in July. Wednesday, after about two hours of sleep and working from 12-3 lifting, sorting, and packaging heavy boxes, I went with roomies to the beach. At night. Again. Looking back on it I don't think I've ever been to this beach during the day. Back to the story. We went around 11 pm--it was cool but not super-cold (though I was thankful I brought my thick, soft green towel). I was amazed. I'd never seen so many stars in my life! I could only pick out a few constellations, to my disappointment (I think if I didn't become an anthropologist, I'd consider becoming an astronomer). While my roommates went for a stroll, I lay down on the sand and just...looked up. I stared. I couldn't help it. It was amazing. The sky looked so wide that I wondered if I lay there long enough if it would swallow me whole. I later joined my roommates in walking, which was quite nice--we just talked and walked along the waves (me falling on my side while trying to climb a sand dune)--and then there was another point, when the clouds started to roll in and cover the stars, when the wind picked up and the waves became rougher and tried to pull us in--the sea suddenly became savage, and I understood the power of Uisgebaugh from the book that I developed a weird love-hate relationship with called Blood and Iron. He's a kelpie, for those who don't follow. It was an interesting, oddly spiritual night.
Veteran's Day, Armistice Day, was spent sleeping and cleaning. Thank God I got the cleaning done THAT day because with the amount of work I'm staring down I don't think I would have gotten it done this weekend. I went to Moe's for the first time...gotta say, they're no Pyrogrill or Chipotle, but they're not bad. Their queso's decent, if nothing else.
Today was start homework and go grocery shopping and get money for laundry! day. Not much else goin' on, really.
So this song has been stuck in my head the past two days. There's this artist named Kate Covington (katethegreat19) on youtube--she's an independent musician. Mostly she does fan arrangements of songs from movies, video games, even bands. My favorites by her include "Bonds of Sea and Fire," "Come Little Children," and "Lament of the Highborne," to name a few. Her renditions of "Sally's Song" from Nightmare Before Christmas and "Music Box Theme" from the game Silent Hill 2 are as eerie as they are beautiful too. Kate also heads an online choir called Stella Voci that did a fantastic version of "Scarborough Fair." She needs more love. Anyway, here's the song by her I can't stop listening to:

I invite this to get stuck in your head as well.
On a final note, Moe's burritos are far tastier when they are reheated than fresh.
