I spoke with Khuzaimah a few days ago. I told him what was going, with Sarim, with the judge's stipulations... and with what Malik and Marik had said, about not wanting me to get married. He listened to everything I had to say, and when I was done, he just nodded and told me that it was, in the end, my decision. I also gave him one eighth of our holdings, like the original agreement was. It wasn't a buyout, although I'm sure some of the Council members will see it like that. I don't care what they think of it -- it was a gift to a friend. And that was after he tried to assure me that I wasn't obligated to do so. But I don't think he realizes how good a person he has been, even if we never actually got together.
I don't know. I'm very confused. He said he would think about it and that he was going back to Egypt. I hope I didn't offend him.

I wonder if this silence is going to stretch forever... but I don't know how I can expect people to understand why I did what I did, and then expect them... *sigh* I grew up with silence because that's all there was. Maybe I should just get used to it again.
