I am staying at the Philippines' University, which is in north Manila, the campus is huge, it's like a green peaceful village, very calm compared to the hectiness of the city. This is a picture from the Sunday school:
It is fun, they all tell jokes while stretching and say the odd "muhaha" while they fight.
Here is a proof of their geekhoodness, something I picked up from their site:
My day usually contains of joining one of Jon's classes and taking privates with another teacher, so I get to have 4 hours of training each day. The rest of the day is spent either with Jon (going to different places, meeting new people) or not being able to move and just staring at the ceiling, since my body aches. Time actually flies by.
Everyone I meet is so nice. At first I thought it was only the people who Jon teaches, but little by little I start realising everyone in this country are extraordinary nice! I meet Philippinos in the hostel (one actually invited me to watch youth peace talks between the Muslim and Catholic...). People keep greeting me in the streets, at first I thought it was because I am a tourist, However, now I started doing the same: "Good morning Mam, Hello Sir..."
The Sunday schoolers are so sweet, someone actually lent me a cell phone!.
I am really glad I saw Jon at the festival, marveled at what he does and just clung to him. Not everyday you meet a foreigner that finds what you do to be cool and tells you she will stay here and learn from you. He has a busy schedule, yet he takes care of me. He helped me find a place to stay, introduces me to everyone and keeps helping me with my training schedule. I am truly grateful.
Now I would like to finish with something beautiful Tal wrote me:
