This asshole, wondering how the hell the T got in LGBT and arguing that transgender protections should have always been left out of ENDA, seems to think trans people should wait for rights, just like women did for fifty years after "blacks" (who are apparently all men) got the vote in 1870. He says it as though that was okay, as if it was just fine for half a century to pass before women could vote. "Someone is always left behind, at least temporarily. It stinks, but it's the way it's always worked, and it's the way you win."
This asshole, a gay-rights activist, thinks Mary Shelley could not possibly have written Frankenstein--that it must have been her husband, Percy Shelley. Mary couldn't have done it, he argues, because an uneducated, 18-year-old girl could not have written a masterpiece, especially one in which "male love" is a major theme. First of all, Mary Shelley was the daughter of William Godwin and Mary fucking Wollstonecraft...she wasn't exactly uneducated. Second, I direct Lauritsen to fanfiction or, you know, huge hunks of the canon, to demonstrate that homoeroticism is not the privileged literary territory of men.
