The after-effects of last night were not exactly feeling merciful to Soul; it took most of his willpower to get up, get washed, and get dressed, all of this that would have been easily pulled off any other day. Well, no. Not so much easily but it would have been easier. Before all consciousness abandoned him the night before, he had set the alarm for seven, this being followed shortly with proceeding to crash into his bunk. Set for seven, because although he didn't have to leave the house until around noon, likes were that he was going to be hitting the snooze alarm a number of times before he even considered getting up, and on top of that -- he was going to take his sweet time getting oriented and re-coordinated.
And that's exactly what he did, because by the time he was done with all the mandatory morning rituals, it was 11:48, and Soul was thankfully more awake than he was three, four hours ago. Like hell he knew when he'd gotten up. Before setting out the door, though, Soul checked back in the mirror one more time, taking the time to rumple up the collar to his shirt, light-grey with white pinstripes. Formalities were for losers. Soul stopped, scowling before turning to the door and rushing out, annoyed at himself for being so vain. Really, it wasn't like this was a date, it was just Maka.

He could spare himself that, at the least, he thought while he headed over to the Hibiscus building, asking around for 309. Following mixed instructions from various people to down 309, Soul tried to look as unphased as he could with the weird looks and giggles he was getting from the occupants, and knocked on the door.
