Genesis blinked. What was he doing, again? Somewhere along the line it had completely slipped his mind, stopping him in his train of thought as he sat in the back of the cab. You see, Genesis was sick. Sicker than he'd ever been in his life, actually, but just didn't want to admit. He'd be fine. He'd be fine. He had to be. Still, that didn't stop him from dosing himself up to the eyeballs in an attempt to numb the all-consuming pain that had become a constant knife in his chest, nor from carrying around a small packet of tissues just incase he was caught unawares by that charming little cough of his. It just so happened that an unfortunate side effect of his cocktail of medicine was hazy memory loss and, what he referred to as 'zombification'. The lights were on, but whether or not anyone was home remained to be seen.
Oh. He remembered now. He had been resting in his apartment for days, dizzy and weak and unsteady on his feet with Kadaj visiting every now and then to make sure he hadn't died in his sleep (for which he was eternally greatful). However, that morning he had decided that enough was enough. Genesis wanted a couple of hours of not having to care, of happiness, and what better way to forget his problems than a trip to the ballet? He knew The Sleeping Beauty was in town -- when one was Genesis Rhapsodos, one tended to know these things -- and during a lull in the pain and sickness had thrown on some clothes (all right, a carefully planned outfit, but still), swallowed down some pain relief and ordered himself a taxi to the ticket box office.
He'd bought two tickets for the days evening performance. Why? He wasn't sure. Genesis was used to having company when he went to the theatre, he supposed, and buying two tickets was something of a habit. Who could he invite along with him? Not Kadaj, the boy would kill him himself if he knew that he'd left his bedrest. The redhead supposed there was one other. Ah. And there he was, pulling up outside Itachi's building and paying the cab driver, accidentally leaving a twenty dollar tip and brushing his clothes down on the sidewalk.
Smart, head to toe black. Not the best colour scheme for someone as dangerously sick as he was, but at least he felt comfortable.
He could do thi-
Someone left the building, and Genesis took the oppertunity to slip inside without having to buzz Itachi. It would be a nice surprise, wouldn't it? He hoped so. Wavering unsurely as he ascended the stairs, Genesis had to take three whole breaks to get ahold of his surroundings and coherency. The pain in his chest intensified, but he bit it back. He couldn't very well give up now. By the time he reached Itachi's apartment he was colourless, blank eyed and trembling ever so slightly, having been slowly shutting down in an attempt to preserve energy.
He knocked on the door. Here went nothing.
