So here's a hell of a graph. Aside from the wider and more obvious implications (read: the internet is for porn), and aside from the fact that we'd really need to know more about what this is measuring and be given real numbers to consider it meaningful, there are a few points worth making ( Read more... )

N. Forman points out that there are similar jumps at the end of each year measured on Google's graph: so it's a "Christmas Thing." However, this does now answer the question of why 2005's jump is as high as it is - so high, in fact, that porn searches do not reach comparable levels until the Christmas jump 2 years later, at the end of 2007.

Actually, never mind - much of this data changes constantly. Still interesting though.

Also, apparently the Turkish word for porn is "porn," which explains that phenomenon.
