Hi.

I'm Juli. You may remember me from bemaniso.ws as that one moderator and livejournal as Juli_rawks.

I've gotta go watch venture bros with Ben, but real quick: fanplusfriend.com, custom sizes. It's worth the wait. AVOID wa lolita unless oyu know it'll be long enough. Honestly it's super unflattering to larger sized girls in general. I wouldn't not try it as your first outfit because it is so costumeish. The only guide you can really stick to the the ones on the lolita handbook or lolitafashion.org (I think they are the same?). Good luck, bbl.

OMG OMG yes..thats me..to both.
thank you for the suggestions! and the warning about wa lolita!
i'm going to stick to the sweet stuff to start out with..though a pirate set might be a good way to surprise chris. =p
i'm usually up until all hours of the night/mornings so i am sure we'll cross paths sometime soon.

F+F has a couple of the pirate or nautical themed outfits. I'd save that for a second outfit though, to be honest. starting with something basic and moving up from there is generally best in my opinion. Also, don't forget a decent pair of shoes! Depending on your size and price range there are various options but pretty much you want something you can walk in. I have gigantic feet so i have a tough time with this :X

also, my aim is boogiepopmeup. If you have any specific questions with little things like where to buy, what to coordinate, what to pick out, I'm really used to these things XD and it's a bit faster than making an lj post for little questions. I've been into the fashion for almost two years now and dressing and buying it for 1.5? So not the most experienced but I lurked for a good long while and skipped over the ita stage for the most part save for an awful luck with shoes.

Wow, I can't imagine only getting to know Syracuse. OMG YOU NEED TO ESCAPE!! :p I'm less than 45 minutes north on the lake. The bigger one. Ontario, not that silly other lake Onodoga. You realize how close you are to the Canadian border right? Drive north to where I live and then you are less than an hour from the border.

y th way, there are a few rochester girls, I understand that's about an hour away? 1-2 hours drives to meet lolis aren't unheard of X3

recommend reading the regular EGL forum FAQs. This plus forum is meant as supplemental and not as a complete replacement for the regular comm. These FAQs should link you around to some guides and the lolita handbook, etc

I reccomend http://catnapcaps.livejournal.com/profile she is a really great comissioner that does really fast work, makes stuff in sweet print fabrics that she buys from Japan, and even has very reasonable prices. she will also work with you to make whatever you want.

I second this. Here are some photos of me wearing a skirt from her. I provided the fabric but I think she stocks the same ones normally anyway. It was very very cheap for me (because of the fabric providing) but even her normal prices are reasonable, and the skirt came out great. I received so many compliments it was amazing.

However, you WILL need to get a blouse, and I suggest Fan Plus Friend for that since they are reliable.
